Coke Earnings Drop 4 Percent

Coca-Cola Co.'s second-quarter earnings fell 4% as weak world-wide volume growth hampered the soft-drinks maker's top line. The world's largest beverage company has seen its results challenged by Americans reducing their soft-drink consumption, rising costs for raw materials and pockets of economic uncertainty, such as Europe and China. Stone Brewing Embraces its Inner Geek

Stone Brewing Co. CEO and Co-founder Greg Koch; actor, craft beer lover and geek idol Wil Wheaton; and craft beer-loving (hey, aren’t we all?) creator Drew Curtis have released what they describe as an "extremely imaginative, dark, hoppy, massive beer."


New Belgium to Enter Delaware

New Belgium Brewing has signed an agreement with N.K.S. Distributors, which is part of the ABI network, to serve as the brewery’s distribution partner in Delaware. New Belgium will start selling beer in the state August 19, 2013 and will roll 22-oz. package of some of its core brands first – Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Rampant Imperial IPA and Trippel – along with two Lips of Faith offerings and Shift 12-pack cans. Draft and 12-oz. package will follow in mid October.


New RNDC Hire to Focus on Proximo Brands

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), the nation’s second largest premium wine and spirits distributor, today announced the hiring of Pape Swanson as vice president of marketing at RNDC. In his role, Swanson will have responsibility over the overall strategic development and implementation of the Proximo brand portfolio for RNDC.


Green Mountain Files Soda Machine Trademark

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. advanced the most in more than two months after filing a U.S. trademark application for a soda machine that could compete with those made by Israel’s SodaStream International Ltd. (Bloomberg)
