Buffett Steals Coke’s Show

Warren Buffett, who controls the largest stake in Coca-Cola Co. (KO), knows how to steal a show. The billionaire investor showed up at the soda maker’s annual meeting yesterday to help sell the company’s message to shareholders in an on-stage interview with Chief Executive Officer Muhtar Kent. The surprise appearance drew a standing ovation as Buffett advised Kent to stay ahead of competitors by reviewing what made other businesses falter. (BusinessWeek)


PepsiCo Launches Pepsi Atom in India

Beverages and snacks major PepsiCo India today expanded its cola portfolio in the country with the launch of Pepsi Atom, and has roped in Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput as its brand ambassador. (NDTV)


Arrogant Bastard Heading to Puerto Rico

Stone Brewing Co. says that, beginning May 13, the San Diego, California brewing company’s beers will be available in bars, restaurants and retail outlets in Puerto Rico for the very first time. Known for its flavorful and hop-centric ales, Stone will distribute its bold beers throughout the Isle of Enchantment via Craft Beer Distributors Puerto Rico. To celebrate, Stone will host meet-and-greet beer tastings, a food-and-beer pairing event and flight samplers of Stone beers at bars and restaurants in select Puerto Rico cities May 14 through 17.


Northwest Wine Distribution Center Opens

Air Force Cadets Win CMI Recycling Contest

The United States Air Force Academy Cadet Squadron 09 won the inaugural Great American Can Roundup (GACR) contest by recycling a total of 4,166 beverage cans. Sponsored by the Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI), the GACR creates awareness of the environmental benefits of recycling cans.
