FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.—5-Hour Energy, the leading energy shot brand, today announced the introduction of its newest flavor, pomegranate.
5-Hour Energy is a 2-ounce energy shot that provides hours of energy with no crash or jitters, according to the company, through a blend of B-vitamins and amino acids. Containing caffeine comparable to a cup of the leading premium coffee, there's zero sugar, zero carbs, zero herbal stimulants and four calories in each 2-ounce shot.
Pomegranate joins 5-Hour Energy's product line that includes berry, lemon-lime, orange and grape flavors, as well as Decaf and Extra Strength versions. This September, 5-Hour Energy introduced its grape flavor and according to Carl Sperber, director of corporate communications for Living Essentials, the makers of 5-Hour Energy, consumers are eager for more new flavors of their favorite energy shot brand.
"Retailers and consumers have asked us for new flavors," Sperber said. "By introducing grape earlier this year, and now pomegranate, 5-Hour Energy offers an even broader product line that meets the needs of both."
According to figures recently provided by AC Nielsen, 5-Hour Energy has a 70 percent share of all liquid energy shot sales, leading its nearest competitor by more than 9 to 1.
