ProMat 2009 Slated in Chicago Jan. 12-15
Friday, 08 August 2008
When ProMat 2009 opens its doors on Jan. 12 at McCormick Place South, Chicago, it will include more than 800 exhibits and an educational conference featuring a keynote on Building the Workforce of the Future. In addition, 100 educational sessions will outline leading trends, best practices and state-of-the-art equipment and technology solutions that can make manufacturing and the entire supply chain work more productively and profitably.

On Jan. 13, renowned journalist Forrest Sawyer will moderate the ProMat Keynote. During the keynote, Sawyer is expected to address how the world's labor force is changing. He will outline the impact of Baby Boomer retirement, which will set the stage for major shifts in workplace demographics, including a declining working population through 2025. The implications for manufacturing and the supply chain are far-reaching.

The ProMat Keynote will consist of a panel of four experts at the forefront of this issue who will provide real-world perspective, detail how the workforce is changing and offer ideas that will help attendees learn about adapting to this change.

ProMat is sponsored by Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA). MHIA is an international trade association that has represented the material handling and logistics industry since 1945.
