Fuller's is Caught on Tape
Tuesday, 20 May 2008
Fuller's London Pride was recently featured in the Hollywood film National Treasure: Book of Secrets, released in 2007. Fuller's London Pride is brewed by Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC, a London brewing company that has been making beer since 1845.

Kegs of Fuller's London Pride fall off of a livery truck as actor Nicolas Cage maneuvers a Mercedes through London's streets. The beer explodes in front of him as he tries to avoid the kegs while driving.

The scene itself took nine weeks to film, in part because the production crew had limited access to London streets and could only, for the most part, work on weekends. Forty cars also were destroyed in the making of the scene. For Fuller's, though, it was all worth it.

"Fuller's Brewery was honored to be chosen as the authentic British Ale in creating the London feel," said Michael Campbell-Lamerton, Fuller's export manager. "And it's exciting that the movie was so well received. We're cheering for it, although it does pain me to see all that many Fuller's kegs being splashed. I guess you could say we take pride in having National Treasure pave the streets of London with our Fuller's Ales."

London Pride is Fuller's flagship brand and, according to the company website, the United Kingdom's premium ale, although it also brews beers such as Fuller's ESB (extra special bitter) and Fuller's IPA.

All Fuller's brands are brewed by award-winning brewer Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC, and are imported to the United States by Distinguished Brands International of Littleton, Colo.
