Cayuga Wine Trail Celebrates 25 Years |

Thursday, 17 April 2008 |
The Cayuga Wine Trail, an association of wineries located along Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, held a 25th anniversary celebration on April 12.
The ceremony, held at the Waterloo Holiday Inn, was named the "Toast the Trail" celebration dinner. A sparkling wine and hard cider reception from 6-7 p.m. was followed by a five-course meal featuring Cayuga Lake wines and chefs.
The festivities surrounding the anniversary, however, were not solely limited to the dinner. Each of the 16 wineries that are part of the Wine Trail sold commemorative wine glasses celebrating the event, as well as T-shirts, pocket style corkscrews and waiter style corkscrews.
The glasses are 18.5 ounces and come in four different designs, with four different Wine Trail slogans on each: See it! is emblazoned on the blue glass; Taste it! on the green; Love it! on the red and Live it! on the black. The T-Shirts, which are black, have the 25th anniversary logo on the front and the same four-part slogan on the back.
"Twenty-five years is a big thing," says Cathy Millspaugh, executive director of the Wine Trail. "We were the first wine trail developed in New York state and one of the first in the US. It's just about celebrating and letting people know how we’ve developed over the years."
