Sacmi to Exhibit at Interpack 2008
Friday, 04 April 2008
The Sacmi Group is scheduled to attend Interpack, the Düsseldorf-based fair for packaging, packaging products and confectionary machines slated from  April 24-30, 2008. With an exhibition area of more than 1000 m2—stand 8AE03, hall 8—Sacmi plans to display all of its latest bottling innovations.

Highlights of the company's display includes the complete "full compression" line made by Sacmi Imola, a CCM64M compression press integrated with a SCM12L slitter—able to produce up to 1,600 plastic caps per minute with just 64 moulds, it also incorporates a vision system for on-line quality control. Used worldwide, compression technology offers clear opportunities for those in the competitive business of plastic caps for drinks, the company reports.

At Interpack, the CCM64M will be equipped with a mould to produce single-piece closures type S9 of 1.9 g., in HDPE, 30 mm diameter and it will be followed by the new slitting machine type SCM12 with 12 tools, the company says.

Also deserving a special mention is the CBF (Compression Blow Forming): this high-tech plastic container-making machine features a series of continuous rotary units that turn plastic granulate into finished containers in a single cycle, thus adding the advantages of a single-stage process to those of compression technology, explains the company.

In the Closures & Containers section, the PAM machine (Preform Advanced Moulding), is the latest to be developed by Sacmi Imola. The prototype, with 48 cavities, can produce 27 thousand 23g preforms for sparkling drinks (CSD) per hour with a 28 mm neck PCO, according to the company, and is available for visitors at the SACMI Imola R&D Centre.
