Boston, Mass.-based Latitude Beverage Co. markets the new wine brand, Ku De Ta, which is the phonetic pronunciation for coup d’état, as a "revolution" in wine, as it challenges the long established practice of major wine labels that grow all their varietals at the same winery. The wines are sourced from the regions of the world growing the best grapes for each individual wine varietal. Ku De Ta malbec is sourced from Mendoza Valley, Argentina, known as the home of the malbec grape, while its sauvignon blanc comes from the Casablanca Valley of Chile, an emerging premier region for the cultivation of the sauvignon blanc grape. Most of the varietals are now available in markets in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York with plans to expand to markets in the South and West later in the year.
