Paso Robles Wines Go on Tour
Wednesday, 27 February 2008
Wineries from Paso Robles, a wine-growing region located between San Francisco and Los Angeles, featured their products in San Diego, Calif. on Feb. 27 as part of a national effort to showcase wines from the region.

The effort, officially called the Paso Robles Winegrowing Alliance's "National Grand Tasting Tour," is designed to give the country an opportunity to experience many of the wineries that have recently been popping up in Paso Robles.

"Our region has experienced explosive growth over the past 10 years, making Paso Robles California's fastest wine growing region," says Stacie Jacob, executive director of the Paso Robles Winegrowing Alliance. "In a few short hours, Southern California wine enthusiasts can find themselves amidst our 170 wineries, experiencing for themselves the quality and variety found in the region."

Of the 170 wineries, 42 participated in the tasting event, the only one that the Alliance will hold in Southern California. Open to members of the qualified trade and media, the event took place at the San Diego Wine Culinary Center in downtown San Diego.

The event also includes the Paso Robles Technical Seminar: A Food Wine Pairing of Paso Robles Wines.

Future stops include Houston on April 10, St. Louis on April 15 and Kansas City April 17.
