While on a fishing trip along the scenic Gallatin River, two marketing executives hatched an idea of putting the natural beauty and purity of the Northwest into a bottle. The brainchild of that fishing trip was Spokane, Wash.-based Dry Fly Distilling, which produces premium, small batch vodka and gin using only locally grown grains and botanicals. The first craft distillery in the state of Washington since Prohibition, the distillery incorporates sustainable ingredients into its Dry Fly Washington Dry Gin and Dry Fly Washington Wheat Vodka, such as Washington malted barley and pure Spokane water. The distillery plans to launch a whiskey in 2009.
