360 Vodka Official Spirit at Sundance
Tuesday, 12 February 2008
360 VodkaMcCormick Distilling Co., Inc.'s 360 Vodka brand was the official spirit of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, the premier showcase for US and international independent film.

McCormick calls 360 Vodka the world's first premium spirit to combine superior quality with environmental responsibility. The spirit was a sustaining sponsor of the festival and was served at all official parties, film premieres and sponsored events to filmgoers from around the world gathered in Park City, Utah from Jan. 17-27, 2008.

To honor the independent filmmaking community attending the festival, 360 Vodka was the exclusive host of a private balcony, renamed the "360 Green Box," at the historic Egyptian Theatre in the heart of Park City.

"Both McCormick Distilling and the Sundance Institute are pioneers in our respective industries, and we also share a commitment to innovation, quality and sustainability," says Ed Pechar, chairman of McCormick Distilling Co. "This partnership provides 360 Vodka with an ideal platform to communicate the exceptional taste and the environmentally-friendly methods in crafting the brand. We are very proud to be the exclusive spirit of the Sundance Film Festival and support the premier showcase of independent film."

A member of the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership, McCormick Distilling says it uses environmentally conscious methods and practices in every aspect of creating the 360 Vodka brand, from the distilling and packaging, to the marketing and on-premise materials.

Crafted from 100 percent locally-grown American grains, 360 Vodka, according to the company, is distilled using a state-of-the-art process that is 200 percent more energy efficient than conventional distilling methods. The bottle has a hand-blown appearance and is made of glass consisting of 70 percent post consumer and 15 percent in-house recycled glass. All of the shipping and packaging materials use 100 percent chlorine-free recycled paper along with water- or soy-based inks, the company reports.

In addition, through McCormick's "360 Close the Loop" campaign, an on-going program through which $1 is donated to recognized environmental organizations for every returned bottle closure, the company is encouraging a call of action and is doing its part to raise awareness on improving the environment.
