Culligan Water of Brighton, Colo., a water distributor with more than 50 years of service, announced that two employees have reached an important professional achievement. General manager Eric Smith, and his sales manager Gail Collins, have been honored as Certified Water Specialists through the Water Quality Association (WQA).

Smith and Collins were awarded their certification in excellence for technology, ethics and all forms of water treatment this past September.  The certification received is the first of six voluntary certifications required to obtain a maximum level of professional expertise dedicated to high professional standards.

Though not required, Culligan employees are encouraged to obtain this certification.

"At Culligan Water of Brighton, we have earned a reputation as a service-focused company that excels in water quality, and we pride ourselves on upholding that status," says Smith. "We believe that maintaining our education improves our quality of service and are very proud of the fact that our customer satisfaction rate never ventures below 94 percent."

Local long-time Culligan clients include Brighton School District, Brighton City Government and nurseries surrounding the Brighton area, among others. In addition to his new certification, Smith's previous recognitions include Field Technical Trainer at Culligan Corporate, Culligan Master Service Technician, Class of 1992, which consists of an elite group of Culligan technicians from around the world, and Serviceman of the year for the state of California in 1992.

The WQA represents residential, commercial, industrial and small community water treatment in the nation.
