Burger King to Carry Nestlé's Pure Life
Monday, 04 February 2008
Nestlé Waters North America (Greenwich, Conn.) began an exclusive five-year partnership with Burger King Corp., the second-largest fast food hamburger chain in the world. The partnership brings Nestlé Pure Life Purified Water, a national bottled water brand in the United States, to more than 7,000 Burger King restaurants in the US.

Nestlé Pure Life Purified Water is calorie-free and enhanced with a unique balance of minerals for taste, describes the company. As customers of quick serve restaurants (QSR) have trended toward making healthy meal purchases like salads and grilled chicken, it has become important to offer healthy beverage options, the company says. Additionally, Nestlé Pure Life is packaged in a Nestlé's new Eco-Shape half-liter bottle. It is 15 percent lighter than the bottle it replaces and contains 30 percent less plastic than the average half-liter beverage bottle, and it is 100 percent recyclable, reports the company.

"We're really excited about the partnership with Burger King," says Kim Jeffery, president and chief executive officer, Nestlé Waters North America. "On average, our new Eco-Shape bottle is the lightest half-liter beverage bottle currently available and is a visual example of our desire to lighten our environmental footprint."

"Our customer now has another great beverage choice in an environmentally friendly bottle that is also shaped to be easily carried, which is a true asset to our on-the-go customer," says John Schaufelberger, senior vice president of global product marketing, Burger King Corp.
