ImageRolling Meadows, IL-based RTC has tapped into its success in creating retail displays for the cosmetic industry to introduce a first-of-its-kind innovation for the beverage marketplace. The BevTrac Shelf Management System combines a clear plastic retainer—which can be branded or left transparent so that the product serves as its own billboard—with a spring-driven paddle that automatically front-faces product. “This is the biggest news in cold merchandising in more than a decade,” says RTC’s Joel Linton. “Because the system is not gravity-fed the shelves can be level, which we believe will enable retailers to put more shelves in their cold door in many cases.” Linton says the device also will cut labor time because merchandisers will not have to spend their time facing product. The modular system consists of trays that can interlock allowing different package sizes to be displayed on a single shelf. The trays can accomodate package sizes ranging from 8.4-ounces to 2-liters and are made of reprocessed materials. www.rtcind.com
