There was lots of news at the ORBIS (Oconomowoc, WI) booth at ProMat this year. First, the show was the first major tradeshow event since the company’s acquisition of LINPAC Material Handling. The acquisition creates a single company that meets virtually every reusable packaging need from bulk containers to custom dunnage and pallets. ORBIS also displayed its new top frame, which was designed in conjunction with Precision Thermoplastic Components (PTC). The reusable frame is constructed of flat polycarbonate boards and rounded nylon corner keys and weighs 20- to 25-percent less than comparable wood frames. Finally, ORBIS featured a pallet designed specifically for use with Swift Water Logistics (a division of Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated) CooLift DSD delivery system. The rugged, one-piece 37-by-18-inch plastic pallet is nestable, can be used as the foundation for an in-store display and holds up to three times more “fridge packs” than a traditional hand truck. www.orbiscorporation.com |
