The Charmer Sunbelt Group has announced the promotion of Rick Slaughter to vice president, business development – Brown Forman effective January 2014. In this role, Slaughter will be responsible for driving strategic planning, and delivering on brand building and execution objectives across the Charmer Sunbelt organization.
“Rick will further enhance the solid partnership alignment between Brown Forman and Charmer Sunbelt at all levels,” says Robert Catalani, executive vice president, sales & marketing, The Charmer Sunbelt Group.

Slaughter brings 31 years of industry experience to this role, having started his career as a sales representative at Churchill Distributors, a member of The Charmer Sunbelt Group. He shortly thereafter was promoted to field sales manager and in 1988 became the Churchill Distributors fine wine manager. After becoming the director of on-premise Sales, Mr. Slaughter was promoted in 1997 to the position of vice president, director of wine sales—helping design the sales organization and overseeing the portfolio of wine suppliers in the newly merged Reliable Churchill organization. In 2007, he was promoted to senior vice president, general sales manager. Slaughter graduated from Towson University with a bachelor of arts degree in History.
Slaughter will report directly to Robert Catalani and will be based out of The Charmer Sunbelt Group’s Maryland headquarters.
