Sobieski Vodka has renewed its commitment to the Fisher House Foundation, a unique public-private partnership that supports the U.S. military and their families. One component of the on-going relationship is Sobieski's Save and Donate program. Consumers will be eligible for a refund on bottles of Sobieski Vodka purchased now through the end of March 2014. For every mail-in refund processed, Sobieski Vodka will match that amount up to $5 as a donation to Fisher House.
With more than 22 million Veterans and an additional 1.3 million active service men and women, brand owner Imperial Brands says, the health care needs for veterans, the military and their families have never been greater. Fisher House Foundation builds homes that provide free, temporary lodging for the families of military members and veterans receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. These 'homes away from home' enable family members to be close to loved ones at the most stressful time—during hospitalization for a combat-related injury, illness or disease.
"We are proud to stand behind Fisher House in their on-going efforts to serve our American service men and women as they recover from traumatic injuries," says Chester Brandes, president & CEO, Imperial Brands, Inc., the exclusive importer of Sobieski Vodka. "The wounded Veterans and their families deserve our help for all that they've sacrificed, and we're honored to be able to raise both awareness and valuable funds to support the Foundation's mission."
"We're here for our soldiers and their families because companies like Sobieski are here for us," says Kenneth Fisher, CEO, Fisher House Foundation. "Thanks to their continued generosity, we are not only able to construct new facilities to keep up with the escalating demand for our services, but also ensure that existing homes provide the level of comfort and care our military families deserve."
With more than 60 facilities across the United States and in Europe, the Foundation passed a significant milestone at the end of July when it marked its 5 millionth lodging night. Since its founding in 1990, Fisher House has saved military families more than $200 million in lodging and transportation costs.
Beyond the practical support of a roof overhead and a safe and comfortable place to stay, Fisher House homes also create an environment where military families can support each other whether cooking together or sharing a meal.
Save and Donate mail-in coupons will be available at select retailers.
In addition to the Save and Donate program, Sobieski is donating a five-day trip for two to Poland as a live auction item for the October Charity Works 2013 Ball, which also benefits Fisher House Foundation.
