Kentucky Eagle, a Lexington, Ky.-based Anheuser-Busch wholesaler for nearly 65 years, was facing some uncomfortable temperature issues in both its 180-employee meeting space and its packing area of the warehouse. With bay doors opening and closing all day to accommodate the loading and unloading of 25 to 30 trucks, it was proving difficult to maintain a steady, comfortable temperature in the packing area. There was also a buildup of exhaust fumes.
Kentucky Eagle found its solution in Big Ass Fans products. The distributor put in two of the fan supplier’s 12-foot diameter Element units in the meeting space and two 20-foot diameter Powerfoil X fans in the packing area.
Kentucky Eagle president Ann Bakhaus McBrayer reports that the fans have made things significantly more comfortable in both areas and allowed for greater air circulation and exhaust in the drive-through packing area. She also that notes the facility is about 90,000 square feet larger than the company’s prior facility, but utility bills are running about the same.
