D.D. Williamson’s six caramel color operations, located on five continents, are now officially certified by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). GFSI is widely considered to be the “gold standard” for international food safety. DDW has achieved its goal of GFSI certification at all caramel color production facilities, placing the company at the leading edge of advanced food safety practices.
GFSI is a non-profit benchmarking organization that seeks to continuously improve food production and manufacturing systems to ensure the global supply chain is safe for consumers. In most cases, the level of food safety attained through GFSI far surpasses the requirements of international, federal and state standards.
“We are proud to say that each caramel color operation achieved an ‘A’ ranking,” says Ted Nixon, Chairman & CEO.
DDW’s certified subsidiaries are located in Louisville, Ky.; Manchester, UK; Co. Cork, Ireland; Manaus, Brazil; Matsapha, Swaziland, and Shanghai, China.
